Choosing Your Raised Toilet Seat
When choosing a raised toilet seat, you want to make sure that the seat is high enough that the person can easily get up, but not so high that their feet dangle. The feet should be flat on the floor while seated for safety. The most standard elevated toilet seats are about 3" in height; however there are 2", 4" and even 5" high toilet risers available to fit specific user requirements. Installing Your Toilet Seat Riser
Some install simply by placing them on top of the bowl for quick install and removal, others include a screw to tighten in place on the bowl; while others install with extra long bolts that hold the toilet securely in place and are great for more permanent installations. Another important issue to consider is the size of the elevated toilet seat. There are 2 kinds of common toilets in the U.S., Standard (Round) Size and Elongated Size. It is important to note that the "round" toilet is actually slightly elongated also. The best way to determine which size toilet you have and avoid ordering errors is to quickly measure your toilet using the basic American Standard guidelines below.
Measure from the Center Hinge Holes in the back of the toilet to the Front of the bowl.
