Manual Wheelchairs for Sale

Choose from our large selection of the best manual wheelchairs for sale to fit your needs. These quality wheelchairs include large back wheels so that can be easily self-propelled by the user or pushed by a caregiver or companion.

Choosing a Manual Wheelchair

  • Seat Width: When choosing a wheelchair, seat width is one of the most important factors. Measure the width of the user from their outside hip to their other outside hip while they are sitting. You can add 1" to 2" to this measurement to allow for movement or bulky clothing, if applicable. Standard adult users typically use the 16" to 18" wide wheelchairs; however, heavy duty wheelchairs are available that can accommodate heavier, larger, and bariatric users with larger seat widths at 20", 22", 24" or 26".
  • Overall Width: It's also important to remember to check the overall width of the wheelchair to ensure that it will fit through the interior doorways, depending on the layout of the building. Most models include the overall width in the specifications; however, you can expect there to be about an additional 8" added to the seat width.
  • Seat-to-Floor Height: Standard seat-to-floor height for a single axle standard wheelchair is 19.5". Seat to floor height is usually only important for those wanting to self propel the chair with their feet. Seat-to-floor height can be adjusted down approximately 2" by purchasing a “dual axle” wheelchair that comes with adjustable height. The height should be set so that the feet lay flat and comfortable on the floor.
  • Armrests: The padded armrests on wheelchairs will be available in Full Length Arms that accommodates those that would benefit from additional arm support and Desk Length Arms that are shorter to allow the chair to be pushed up to a desk or table.
  • Additional Options: There are many other features and options available, depending on the model you choose. Special features include reclining backrests, padded upholstery, detachable arms, swing away footrests, elevating legrests, and many more! We carry all major manufacturer brands including Drive Medical, Invacare, Medline, Carex, and more.
